Classic Chocolate Cookies

I'm back..... Yes it's totally relief to be here again after months no post at all in my blog :)

Anyway, for this special occasion, as this is the second day of Idul Fitri. Let me wish you "SELAMAT HARI RAYA IDUL FITRI. MOHON MAAF LAHIR DAN BATIN"

For this special occasion also I would like to share what I found and I have tried by my self in my kitchen :)

You will love this cookies. I do. I made little modification as I ran out chocolate chips during the making. I replaced it with almond. As we all know chocolate with almond is very yummy combination.

So... this is the recipe.

Classic Chocolate Chips Cookies
adapted from
Nigella's Kitchen
 Ingredients :
  • 170 grams soft unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup palm sugar + 1/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, refrigerator-cold
  • 1 egg yolk, refrigerator-cold
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 300 grams dark chocolate chips (original: 326 g milk chocolate chips)

HOW - TO :
  1. Preheat the oven to 160 degree Celsius. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment, or in my case, silicon mat.
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool a bit. Put the sugars into a bowl, pour the slightly cooled melted butter over them and beat together.
  3. Beat in the vanilla, the cold egg and cold egg yolk until your mixture is light and creamy, resembling cake batter.
  4. Slowly mix in the flour and baking soda until just blended, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop the cookie dough into 1/4 cup ice-cream scoop and drop onto the prepared baking sheet, plopping the cookies down about 3-4 cm apart. Press each cookie mound with your finger tips to flatten it slightly. If you need to make these in several batches, keep the bowl of cookie dough in the fridge between batches.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes in the prepared oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted (depending on your oven). Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
I believe 1 recipe is not enough. As you eat, you will eat more and more. Please have a nice try at your home :)

Can't wait to see all of you try it by yourselves :)

Below are the lovely pictures of mine. Hopelfully will be your inspiration.
